Introducing Whisper Staking Pools: Earn More $WISP with Longer Lockup Periods

Tomorrow marks the launch of the first three Whisper staking pools. In these staking pools, you can stake your $WISP tokens to earn a return in the form of more $WISP.
We are offering three staking pools with varying lockup periods for your tokens. The Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for each pool is determined by the length of your lockup, with longer lockup pools providing higher APRs.
The Benefits of Staking
Staking has been a cornerstone of Decentralized Finance (DeFi) in the cryptocurrency space. As a protocol offering a range of DeFi tools and products, it made sense for staking to be our first offering to $WISP holders.
Our project is still in its early stages, and our revenue is currently minimal. However, as our revenue grows, staking your $WISP tokens to earn a share of the revenue will become increasingly attractive. To familiarize our community with staking for yield, we are launching pure staking pools designed to increase your $WISP holdings.
In the future, we plan to introduce staking pools with lower APRs than our current celebratory introductory staking pools. As the revenue from the Whisper platform increases, the APR in $WISP tokens will decrease.
Staking Pool Details
We are launching three staking pools, with a total staking capacity of 25 million $WISP tokens (50% of the circulating supply).
- Pool 1: 30-day lockup period
- Pool 2: 60-day lockup period

- 13.75 million tokens can be staked in this pool
- APR: 79,58%
- Maximum total payout: 687.5K $WISP
Pool 2
- 60-day lockup period
- 8.25 million tokens can be staked in this pool
- APR: 102.91%
- Maximum total payout: 1,150K $WISP
Pool 3
- 90-day lockup period
- 3 million tokens can be staked in this pool
- APR: 205.66%
- Maximum total payout: 1,000K $WISP
Staking Start Date and Duration
Staking begins on Friday, April 21st, 2023, at 11 PM UTC. The staking pools will remain open for 7 days from the opening or until the entire pool is filled. Regardless of when you start staking within the 7-day period, your APR and lockup period will remain the same.
Emergency Withdraw Function
If you decide that you no longer want to remain in our staking pools, you can use the Emergency Withdraw option. By choosing this option, you will forfeit all rewards or yield from your staking pool, and you will incur a 5% penalty on your stake. These tokens will be directed towards the Whisper ecosystem for partnerships and other growth initiatives, such as LP farming rewards on other DEXes.
Sustainable Dilution
We have carefully planned the introduction of a total maximum of just under 3 million tokens into the Whisper ecosystem, with unlocks happening across three different months. We expect the dilution to have a minimal impact. With the introduction of LP farming next week, as well as partnerships with DEXes that offer LP farming on their platforms with unique rewards, we are confident that the dilution will not negatively impact the Whisper ecosystem.
Early Staking Pools vs. Later Staking Pools
Our introductory single-asset staking pools offer exceptional APRs that will not be available in future staking pools. The remaining 7% of tokens will be gradually introduced to the Whisper ecosystem over a period of at least 18–24 months. If you miss out on the early staking pools, don’t worry — there will always be staking pools for $WISP in the future.
